Week at a Glance

Hello CTC Families,

Our students are celebrating Red Ribbon Week, an anti-drug educational campaign, this whole week.  On Monday, grades 1-5 will make “stay drug free” posters, Student Council will lead a dodgeball game at lunch and will pass out red bracelets to all PS and DS students.  Tuesday, Student Council President Matthew Bortz, will host a “Lego Lunch”.  The Student Council will be judging the posters on Wednesday.  This Thursday, Oct. 26, all students who wear red may have free dress (that could be red shirts, pants, dresses, hats…) and on Friday, Oct. 27, all students who qualify may wear their Halloween costumes for Spirit Day.  Remember, we do not allow witches, goblins, vampires etc… and correct footwear is still required.

Starting Monday, Oct. 30 through Thursday, Nov. 9, students in grades 2 – 5 will be taking their national standardized tests.  Please try to make sure your child is on time to school, well rested, and has eaten a healthy breakfast.  Although these tests only represent one small aspect of your child’s educational achievements, we want them to be a prepared as possible so that they can do their best.

Instrumental Guitar Christmas CD – is available for purchase through the office.  22 of your favorite songs with beautiful harmonies.  Great for stocking stuffers.  Prices: $15 each, 2 for $25, 3 for $35, 4 or more $10 each.  You can hear the CD playing in the lobby.  Pay by check, cash, or your account can be billed.  Proceeds benefit the Sacramento Trip Fund.

Please come celebrate 500 years of reformation at our Harvest Reformation Festival this Saturday, Oct28, from 3:00pm-7:00pm.  We will have food, music, games, contests, raffles, a dunk tank, Trunk or Treat, and much more!  If you are interested in volunteering, please see the sign up board in the back of the chapel.

If you are making cake and pie donations for the Harvest Reformation Festival, please drop your cakes and pie off by Thursday or Friday October 26 & 27. Thank you and see you there.

Our elementary school students will be having a Thanksgiving Feast on Wednesday, Nov. 15.  Please do not order hot lunch for your child that day.  Preschool students may still order hot lunch for that date.

Share the warmth!  CTCA is having a Blanket and Coat Drive.  Please bring your gift of new or gently used blankets and/or coats (children and adult sizes) to the bin located in the front of the school.  Donations will be collected for the entire month of October.  All donated items will go to Urban Street Angels and The Polinsky Children’s Center.  Thank you in advance for your generous support and kind hearts!

Starting immediately, we will start a new process for students who arrive tardy at school after we have walked over to flag pledges.  Students may not run up to join their class or walk over to their classroom to put their belongings away.  Instead, they will need to stand quietly and respectfully at the gate with our Student Council officers until flag pledges and song are finished.

ALL parents, grandparents, and others who wish to volunteer, be on our school campus during the school day, be here at lunch time or for class parties, or help the school in any way are now REQUIRED to have immunization records showing proof of a negative TB test and that you have had your whooping cough and measles immunization, a current flu shot between August and December 1 of each year, and complete a Background Check.

If you don’t have your own family church, we invite you to come and worship with us each Sunday at either our 10:00am service or our 11:30am service.
