Miss Susan, Preschool Teacher
Attending Mesa College, Miramar Collage, and San Diego City College, Susan earned a Vocational Nursing Degree, specializing in Pediatrics, and an Associate in Science Degree, with Child Development as her Major. When asked what her favorite subject to teach is, she responded, “I like to teach everything. I especially like to teach Bible stories. I always invite other four year old classes to our Bible lessons.”
Working in the educational field for over 40 years, Susan became a teacher because, “I love kids!!! I want to see them be happy and successful.” She started teaching at CTCA because, “it’s a school where you can share your belief in Jesus Christ!”
What is Susan’s philosophy of education? “I believe in education that is presented in a loving, caring, consistent manner, allowing each child to grow at their own rate, acquiring skills as they are developmentally ready. Start each class day with a prayer!”
When asked what her favorite bible passage or verse is (and what it means to her), Susan answered “Luke: 12:23-34. This passage tells us not to worry about life because God is always there for us to depend on.”
An interesting fact about Susan, most people may not know, “I love all animals. I would place a spider outside, rather than kill it. God tells us to care for stray animals: Deuteronomy: 22:1-4. And, I am presently reading the entire Bible for the third time.”
Some of Susan’s hobbies include a love for reading. She has been married for over 43 years to Julio and has a 40-year-old daughter Renee and a 33-year-old daughter Lisa.
