Ms. Diana, Preschool Teacher
Diana has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego, as well as an Associate in Science Degree with Honors, with Child Development as her major. She loves teaching art, as well spending a lot of time singing and dancing in class. “I love combining our lessons together so the children learn their numbers and letters through art, music and motion, and a variety of ways. I want the children to always give their best effort in all they do. I try to promote independence and impart responsibility so they learn that their actions are meaningful and have consequences. I love working with parents to make sure there is consistency in what we do and what we say. I try to set a good example of good Christian behavior towards everybody so that these children will know of God’s love.”
Working in the educational field for 16 years now, Diana became a teacher because “these children are a blessing to me. Their excitement about learning gives me the same joy and exhilaration when it comes to teaching.” She started working at CTCA through the Regional Occupational Program in high school, wherein she was an intern in 2000 and has been here at CTCA since. “I love the fun family aspect of it, these kids and their families feel like family to me too, and my co-workers are my second-family. Most of all, we get to share our love for Jesus here at CTCA!”
When asked what her favorite bible passage or verse is, Diana answered, “Matthew 11:28-30. ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.’ I hold onto these words when needed and it gives me strength to face whatever comes my way, because I know I am not alone.”
Diana is known to be a lover of reading, traveling and photography. She loves being one with nature and exploring all the wondrous places God has created for us.
