A Little Poetry Our 6th graders in 2002-2003 finished a poetry writing section in Language. We had fun rhyming words, writing and reading poetry. Here are some samples: Ducky Wucky by S. W. Ducky wucky ate a pucky Spit it out and said, "Oh Yucky!" His mommy said, "you're so Lucky, That you didn't die from that icky pucky!" Ducky Wucky ate a lolly Spit it out and said, "Oh mommy!" Mommy came and called Doctor Polly. But Ducky Wucky said, "No Mommy Don't call Doctor Polly, instead let's go to the mally!" Wolf Pack By Q. D. In the blackness of night, deep in the silent woods, what gives you a fright on a full moon? In the blackness of night. In the blackness of night, there are glittering yellow eyes, they strike fear into the heart of mine, there in the dark, In the blackness of night. In the blackness of night, a starving wolf pack is hunting, searching for prey, searching for food, In the blackness of night. In the blackness of night, they find a moose, they move in for the kill, here is their food, In the blackness of night. In the blackness of night, the moose puts up a fight, but it looses, and falls down dead, In the blackness of night. In the blackness of night, the wolves starve no more, they drag the moose to the den, and devours it, In the blackness of night.
